47 x 125 mm Treated Carcassing Dry Graded C24 5x2

The 47 x 125 mm Treated Carcassing Dry Graded C24 5x2 timber is a premium-quality structural wood designed for strength, durability, and long-term performance. Precision-cut and pressure-treated, this C24-graded softwood is ideal for a range of construction projects, offering reliability and stability in both indoor and outdoor applications.

Product Features/Specifications:

Manufactured from responsibly sourced softwood, this carcassing timber is kiln-dried and strength-graded to C24 standard for superior load-bearing capacity. Each piece is treated to enhance resistance against rot, decay, and insect attack, ensuring long-lasting structural integrity. The smooth, planed finish allows for easier handling and installation.

Detailed Product Benefits:

C24 timber is widely recognised for its exceptional structural strength compared to standard C16 grades. Its enhanced grading ensures fewer natural defects, making it ideal for demanding construction applications such as roofing, flooring, and framing. The pressure treatment process deeply penetrates the timber fibres, providing lasting protection against moisture and fungal damage. Kiln drying helps reduce the risk of warping or splitting, ensuring consistent dimensions and reliable performance over time.

Applications and Versatility:

Perfect for both residential and commercial projects, this treated carcassing timber is suitable for:

  • Roof trusses and joists
  • Floor and ceiling structures
  • Stud walls and partition framing
  • Decking subframes and outdoor structures
  • General joinery and structural applications

Whether used internally or externally, this C24-graded timber offers both functional strength and an aesthetically clean finish for visible construction elements.

Features & Benefits List:

  • C24 strength grading for superior structural integrity
  • Pressure-treated for protection against rot, decay, and insects
  • Kiln-dried for dimensional stability and reduced moisture content
  • Smooth planed finish for easier handling and installation
  • Sourced from sustainable, responsibly managed forests
  • Ideal for structural and general-purpose building projects

Technical Specifications:

  • Size: 47 x 125 mm (5x2)
  • Grade: C24 (BS EN 338 compliant)
  • Treatment: Pressure-treated (green or brown finish)
  • Moisture Content: Kiln-dried to below 20%
  • Timber Type: Scandinavian or British softwood
