Emerys are committed to working with our customers and trading partners to constantly improve and create a more clean and green building industry.

We understand the environmental commitment that many of our contractors have to demonstrate to their clients, that may give them the edge to win a tender process.

We at Emerys make our contribution in the following areas:-

Efficient Satellite Monitored One Stop Delivery Service - to ensure more efficient journey planning and no unnecessary deliveries. Local builders merchant for local deliveries.

Lean Construction - to work with contractors and project mangers who are striving for the correct amount of materials and do not accept the traditional process of ordering a potential 10% waste.

Recycling and Waste Separation - all our own waste is separated at source, brick block & general hardcore, plastic, card and steel compacted and sold. Very little goes to landfill.

Zero Carbon Rated Targets - stocking manufacturers’ products who use carbon capture through their manufacture or products that reduce carbon emissions.

FSC and PEFC - accreditation for timber based products from renewable and sustainable sources.

Zero carbon rated homes

New measures announced in the government's 2008 budget was a commitment to zero carbon homes to include all new non-domestic premises by 2019.

In April 2007 the Code for Sustainable Homes replaced Ecohomes for the assessment of new housing in England.

The Code is an environmental assessment method for new homes based upon Ecohomes and contains mandatory performance levels in 7 key areas.

The Code aims to protect the environment by providing guidance on the construction of high performance homes built with sustainability in mind.

There are currently many new Modern Methods of Construction to work towards achieving Carbon Zero and as more systems develop and become the industry standard, we will keep you updated.
